The University of Salento chooses Cezanne Software as a strategic partner for the implementation of a Performance Management performance management solution
The University of Salento, one of the many learning institutions in Italy is one of the first in southern Italy to adopt a performance evaluation system from the leading supplier of HR & talent management software solutions – Cezanne Software.
The implementation of Cezanne’s performance management software is driven from the Legislative Decree 150/2009 (Decreto Brunetta) and the recent long careful consideration of the Independent Commission for the evaluation, transparency and integrity in the Public Administrations (CIVIT).
The performance management project
The primary objective of the project is for the key stakeholders to manage the assessment of employees’ performance more effectively, strengthen the team ethic and ensure that employee productivity is maximized. The University of Salento is particularly keen to make sure that the process is completely transparent to students through the measurement and evaluation of both performance and results achieved by the various departments.
The performance evaluation process will be supported by shared measures for qualitative and quantitative self-assessment - the so-called Caf - Common assessment framework- which includes aligning the institutional objectives and strategies of the university administration, and the definition of achievement indicators from the CIVIT in agreement with the Crui Fundation (Committee of Representation for Italian University).
The evaluation process will be undertaken by a team of experts including people from an independent function of the University of Salento known as Group of Performance Management.
The evaluation plan takes into account empirical and objective measures and a prize will be awarded to those employees who achieve outstanding performance for their activities.
The future potential
The performance management project, in partnership with Cezanne Software started in December 2010, for almost 700 employees. At the end of January 2011 an evaluation system prototype was introduced and the implementation of Cezanne’s performance management software system will be concluded in March 2011.
It is expected that the model adopted by the University of Salento could then be chosen by other Italian universities, including the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, the polytechnic institute of Bari, the University of Foggia and the universities of Molise and Basilicata.
