Misfiring Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is 5/4 to start and fail to score in Tuesday night’s Champions League semi final second leg at Manchester United, as the £50m flop continues to search for his first Blues’ goal.

With his side out of the Premier League title race and facing a 1-0 deficit as they head into the second leg at Old Trafford, pressure is mounting on Chelsea manager Carlo Ancellotti but Boylesports.com is predicting that he will continue to play the shot-shy Spaniard despite his failure to find the net since his penultimate game for Liverpool on January 22.

In the haste to claim back the one goal reverse at the Bridge, the bookmaker goes 5/2 that Ancellotti starts with Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka in his first eleven, despite the trio struggling to gel since Torres’ arrival in the January transfer window.

Boylesports.com is 6/4 that he starts with Torres on the bench and, if that is the case, 5/2 is available that Torres does not feature in the 90 minutes.

“Fernando Torres has failed to make any impression at Stamford Bridge so far but Ancelotti could pile even more pressure on himself if he leaves out his £50m man,” said Boylesports.com PR spokesperson, Nicola McGeady.

“Chelsea will have to go for it at Old Trafford but will they opt for a three-pronged attack that, whilst full of quality, has failed to deliver the goods so far in 2011?”
