SCUK Spring Bash @ The Snow Centre

LONDON, 04 May 2011 - The Snowboard Club UK is inviting everyone to give freestyle skiing and snowboarding a go during the Spring Bash on Saturday 14th May. Once again, SCUK has chosen The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead as the ultimate snow slope to host this all day freestyle event. In the evening, everyone can enter an epic Jam session and win loads of prizes by showing off their cool tricks and stunts. The Jam session can also be watched from The Edge, the best après-ski bar this side of the Alps.

Everyone is invited to attend with a valid lift pass but members of the online snowboard community SCUK will receive discounts. SCUK membership costs £15, but SCUK members will get an additional 10% discount on their lift passes. All Day Lift Passes normally cost £25 or £35 if you're over 17 and will allow you to jump, bonk, grab, spin and slide all you like.

Coaching Sessions

The Spring Bash is all about enjoying freestyle snow sports, regardless your ability or experience.Definition and Maverix, the best two companies in the business of freestyle coaching in the UK, will be running one hour coaching sessions all day long. Their fully qualified coaches will turn every freestyle newbie into a confident rider and will teach experienced freestyle skiers and snowboarders some wicked new tricks.

Each session is for a group size of 6 people and will cost £10 or only £5 for SCUK members. The layout of the park will be beginner friendly, and the rails, jumps and boxes will be out on the slope all day.

You can either book your sessions on the day or book one morning session and one afternoon session in advance on the SCUK website. To secure your place, you'll have to pay in cash to the SCUK stand on site 20 minutes before the session.

The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, only 30 minutes outside London, boasts a BASI Centre of Excellence Status and is the most highly qualified snowsports school in the south of England. Skiers and snowboarders of all abilities are guaranteed to receive world class coaching.

Guests purchasing a Recreational Lift Pass must be of a recreational standard, so they must be able to perform linked turns, control their speed, stop, and be able to use a button lift. Anyone who cannot meet these standards will not be allowed a lift pass. Waterproof clothing can be hired for £5.50. Socks and gloves are compulsory.
