From today, Pushnote users can rate anything on the web. It’s a key part of Pushnote’s first major update following its launch in January.

Each web page will have an average five star rating, providing an immediate, independent rating for any product, service or piece of content.

Pushnote will also rank the most popular pages, so users can see what’s hot in real-time. It aims to be the best source of great content by measuring not just how many people like a page, but how much they like it.

Users can see each other’s posts by latest or highest rated - a fun new way to keep track of your friends’ all-time favourites.

The update is available at, along with a new intro video, voiced by Stephen Fry.

CEO John Leaver says “Pushnote tackles one the web’s big challenges: with an enormous amount of content created daily, how do you find the best stuff, fast? The five star system enables us to quickly highlight content that people really love, even if it didn’t have a big launchpad.”

Pushnote is also launching a rating sticker which people can display on their web sites. It displays the latest live rating by Pushnote users. It also prompts visitors to rate and share the page and in doing so, increase the page’s rank and exposure to the whole Pushnote community. The stickers and information for developers can be found at

The update also enables users to meet their online Neighbours - people who like (up-vote) their posts. When a user up-votes someone’s post, they become Neighbours and follow each other in the Neighbours section. A Close Neighbours section shows posts by people who up-vote your posts most often.

The Pushnote update contains many tweaks and bug-fixes, but is still in beta.

“We’re hugely appreciative of the positive initial response to Pushnote. People have used it in ways we didn’t expect and their feedback has really shaped this update,” says John Leaver.

Following the January launch there are already Pushnote comments on over 5000 web sites.
