International Supercomputing Conference 2011 (ISC), Hamburg, Germany (20th June, 2011). Boston Limited, now in its 20th year as a distribution partner for ISC platinum sponsor Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), are proud to unveil their latest addition to their range of high performance Venom hybrid compute platforms, the Boston Venom 1500-06. Partnering with Boston Limited at ISC 2011 are software vendors Realtime Technology (RTT), specialists in 3D virtualization solutions, who will be showcasing and demonstrating the ray tracing capabilities of the latest version of their renowned 3D visualization package DeltaGen 10.0 on the Boston Venom 1500-06. Visit Stand 700 for a live demonstration and more information.

Powered by up to 80 Intel Xeon E7-8800 cores and up to 2TB of DDR3 memory using 64 DIMMs, the Boston Venom 1500-06 8-Way server is a true enterprise platform for the High Performance Computing (HPC) arena. All within a compact 5U rack mountable enclosure Boston’s exciting new solution delivers the exceptional levels of computational performance demanded for today’s most demanding HPC applications.

Combined with the essential RAS features for mission critical applications the massive computational power made available by the Venom 1500-06 has fast secured support from leading software vendors such as RTT as THE hardware platform of choice to complement their advanced software visualization application RTT DeltaGen 10.0. Making full advantage of the latest developments in hybrid compute power DeltaGen is able to meet the optimal performance demands placed on HPC by harnessing the power of both the platforms CPU and GPU processors.

Setting the new benchmark for efficiency DeltaGen supports and increases the speed of a number of complex scientific processes such as Bidirectional Texturing Function (BTF) for highly realistic, accurate representations of complex materials and optimized Image Based Lighting (IBL).

Manoj Nayee, Managing Director of Boston Limited, says, “Our latest Venom GPU solution is a highly scalable and reliable, high performance server that is designed to provide a balanced architecture for large data intensive and diverse technical computation applications. It is an ideal solution for even the most demanding enterprise applications; such as large database, OLTP, server consolidation, virtualization and cloud infrastructure environments for complex workloads.”

Hybrid compute support for GPGPU accelerated workloads arrives as standard with the Boston Venom featuring 4 of the NVIDIA’s® latest Tesla C2070 GPU processing accelerators that each contain 448 Cuda(TM) parallel processing cores and 6GB of RAM, to enable each NVIDIA® Tesla C2070 GPU to deliver up to 515 gigaflops of peak double-precision performance thereby enabling application acceleration by up to an extraordinary 10 fold increase compared to using solutions that have been design to use CPU power alone.
