UK-based carbon offset company Carbonica appoints Rosana Della Mea as REDD+ project manager


Carbonica (Press release) – London, 8 July 2011 -- Carbonica is pleased to confirm the appointment of Ms Rosana Della Mea as REDD project manager at the company’s London office, commencing 1 July 2011.

Ms Della Mea has extensive experience in the forestry sector, having worked previously as a consultant through her own firm Reddleaf in the UK, and in many REDD projects through various NGOs around the world. Her previous employment was at the CREES Foundation and Rainforest Concern, where she has worked in various aspects of project origination, carbon trading, sales of carbon credits and ecosystem services. She has also participated in the Bloomtrigger project, a rainforest conservation initiative.

She began her working life in the financial sector and then studied at Imperial College, where she did an MSc in Environmental Technology at the Centre for Environmental policy, after which she became an environmental consultant.

She joins Carbonica as Project Manager for REDD projects, where she will participate in the origination of several forestry projects in Chile, including improved forestry management, REDD+ and afforestation. These projects are part of a joint venture between Carbonica and REDDMontt Forestry.

Her extensive experience as an environmental consultant in the forestry sector and in particular REDD projects makes her ideally suited for the position.
