Active Risk (formerly Strategic Thought Group) (AIM: ARI) has announced that RWE Technology GmbH, the construction specialist within the RWE Group, has selected its award winning* Active Risk Manager (ARM) software to support a consistent process for risk capture and control across its portfolio of projects and programmes.
After a year-long study of systems and processes across the group which covered the operating companies in UK, Netherlands and Germany, ARM was judged the best fit for RWE Technology’s project and programme risk management needs. A successful pilot project has resulted in a planned roll-out of ARM to cover all power station projects.
RWE Technology work on power station construction and modernization projects throughout Europe, from the planning stage through to commissioning. This includes traditional power generation based on gas, nuclear power, hard coal and brown coal through to water and biomass power stations with the aim to ensure that the RWE Group’s power plants will continue to count among the most advanced, most economical and most environmentally friendly of their kind.
Lynton Barker, Active Risk’s Executive Chairman, said, “We are pleased that the success of RWE Technology’s pilot project resulted in deeper adoption of ARM across the business. Active Risk Manager is increasingly the risk solution of choice within the energy sector as we see it implemented by different elements of the consortia and supply chain involved in these complex and important projects.”
