New Intrexx CMS Studio makes the use of TYPO3, Joomla or Drupal for managing content within the intranet redundant

London, 11 August 2011 – United Planet (, one of the leading developers of enterprise portal software in Europe, has launched a new Content Management System (CMS) tool for its intranet and portal suite Intrexx. The new Intrexx CMS Studio brings CMS functionality to the enterprise portal and helps businesses to simplify the process of managing their content. This saves companies time and money.

Axel Wessendorf, CEO of United Planet, explains that: “CMS solutions such as TYPO3, Joomla or Drupal are well recognised as the ideal solutions for managing a company’s website because they are dedicated to the creation and maintenance of content on the Internet. However, many companies often make the mistake of trying to utilise their Open Source CMS solutions to also create and manage their intranet. The reality is that organisations that want to create an enterprise portal which automates business processes, integrates existing ERP-data and even provides field staff with mobile access to business data, should invest in specialist portal software if they want to minimise costs,” he says.

CMS functionality is not only useful when creating a website but also when developing an enterprise portal because intranet applications are often created from pure content. Companies that want to avoid using two systems – one for creating their intranet and one for managing its content – will benefit from the new Intrexx CMS Studio because the software addresses both requirements at the same time.

United Planet’s new CMS tool simplifies the process of creating and managing content in the enterprise portal, with no need for complex HTML or programming knowledge. As a result, individual departments are able to create their own content quickly and easily which contributes significantly to efficient information flow across the business. It also guarantees the quality and relevancy of information which greatly reduces errors and introduces substantial cost saving to the business.

The multilingual Intrexx CMS Studio is available from the Intrexx Application Store ( from € 262. It provides a comprehensive range of content management functionality to make intranet content creation and maintenance easy, including an integrated WYSIWYG-editor, various templates and the ability to individually configure different release processes. Mobile pages can also be created quickly and easily. All this streamlines content creation, publication and management within the company.
