As part of their proactive CSR initiative, global digital marketing agency GGMR is proud to be associated with the highly successful national charity campaign devoted to getting British children reading.
Voluntary Reading Help (VRH) was established in 1973 and has been a registered charity since 1980. It is dedicated to training and supporting volunteers to help children confidently develop their reading skills. The London Evening Standard has recently championed this initiative and in association with VRH has launched their ‘Get London Reading’ campaign, following the revelation that one in four children leave London schools unable to read properly.
GGMR’s commitment back in the spring to completely redesign the VRH website and launch a bespoke online proposition, was completed without any costs being incurred by the charity. The site includes a fully integrated CMS along with social media strategy and email marketing development.
Sheena Gill, GGMR managing director, explains; “VRH does vital work supported by The London Evening Standard, not simply improving children’s reading, but also improving their confidence and self-esteem. GGMR has been delighted and excited to be able to develop something rather special as part of our CSR initiative, that will help VRH to recruit and train reading helpers to work with children aged 6-11 across the UK.”

The VRH web site is the second site that highlights GGMR’s commitment to CSR. The company was proud to be involved with the creation of the royal wedding charitable gift fund web site on behalf of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge that went on to raise in excess of £1 million for UK charities.
