New offerings from the UK’s leading IT services and solutions provider help organisations of all sizes manage, integrate and support the increasing use of Apple devices in the workplace
London, UK – September 1, 2011 – Insight UK, a division of Insight Enterprises, Inc (“Insight”) today launched a new range of enterprise IT services and solutions for organisations looking to manage and support the use of Apple iPads, iPhones and other iOS devices within the business environment. Insight’s new service offerings allow organisations to take advantage of the efficiency and productivity benefits that the consumerisation of IT promises, while maintaining corporate IT governance, security and service levels.
The new ‘Insight Apple Solutions’ offerings respond to the growing use of Apple technologies in businesses; Apple’s desktop and laptop sales now put it in the top five PC vendors in the UK , while it also leads the market for smartphones and tablets across the business and consumer sectors . The popularity of Apple desktops in ‘Bring Your Own Computer’ schemes is also driving wider take-up in the enterprise. As the consumerisation of IT continues, Insight is responding to customer demands around device management and application delivery across Apple mobile, laptop and desktop devices.
The first services launched today as part of the Insight Apple Solutions portfolio include:
• Insight Network Ready – this assesses whether an existing network infrastructure is capable of supporting a large number of mobile devices at any one time and that the right security infrastructure is in place, so that users can get access to the resources they require when they are working outside of the company network.
• Insight Configuration Management - this provides the tools and processes needed to quickly configure iPads and iPhones for company use, and ensures devices are managed once out in the field. This includes setting up policies over appropriate use of the devices, and ensuring that company security rules are in place to keep data secure.
• Insight Virtual Desktop and Applications – this includes a range of solutions that enable Windows desktops or individual applications to be securely accessed from an iPad, iPhone and iPod touch device. Working with Insight’s dedicated services team, organisations can select from cloud-based, hosted Windows desktops or on-premise virtual desktop solutions, depending on their needs.
• Insight Bespoke Apps – this gives organisations the ability to create their own powerful apps for specific business requirements, services or tasks or to support branding or customer engagement. Insight works with its customers to develop apps that meet their requirements, from full Apps that are available on the public App Store through to native iOS apps for internal enterprise deployments and web applications that provide the look and feel of iOS applications.
