Netcel has launched a charity fundraising website to accompany the annual cycle ride for MoneySpinners, www.moneyspinners.org.uk
Now in its third year, MoneySpinners has so far raised over £200,000 for charity. This year the cyclists, from the UK’s financial services sector, will do their own tour de France, by cycling over 600 miles in one week (3-10 September 2011) from Paris to Bordeaux to raise even more money for charity.
As the digital sponsor of the event, Netcel has adopted a mobile-CMS strategy to allow the cyclists to update site content while on the move. This includes Google Map integration which plots the real-time location of cyclists between Paris and Bordeaux, with updates every 10 seconds. This enables the cyclists to keep all their sponsors and followers up to date with latest news via a Twitter feed, as well as providing photos and videos from their mobiles to the website.
The resulting website is a constantly evolving, content-rich experience that creates a close engagement between sponsors and fundraisers. MoneySpinners nominated charity for 2011 is The Alzheimer's Society
Tim Parfitt, Managing Director of Netcel, commented, “I am delighted that Netcel is the digital sponsor of MoneySpinners for the third year running. The cyclists have achieved so much and raised such substantial funds for charity in this time, and we are delighted with the role that the website plays in assisting their fundraising efforts”.

Notes to editor
MoneySpinners was founded in 2009 by Keith Carby of Caerus Wealth Management, who invited a group of like-minded executives from the financial services industry to take part in one of life's great challenges - to cycle the length of Great Britain and to raise money for worthy causes.
In September 2009, the inaugural MoneySpinners event took place. Twenty cyclists covered 1000 miles in 10 days from Lands End to John O'Groats, raising £150,000 for Naomi House Children’s Hospice in the process.
In September 2010, nineteen cyclists covered 600 miles from the most easterly point of England (Lowestoft) to the most westerly point of Ireland (Dingle Bay), raising £50,000 for MacMillan Nurses.
