•ITIL authors explain the background to the framework’s first major update in four years
London, UK – 2nd September 2011 – itSMF UK, the UK’s largest service management user group, today announced its ITIL 2011 Roadshow, which will take place on 6th September 2011 in London and 7th September in Edinburgh. The ITIL 2011 Roadshow brings together the authors and mentors from the ITIL Update project to explain what the new edition means for service management practitioners, managers and consultants.
The ITIL Lifecycle Suite, 2nd Edition (the core publication suite at the heart of ITIL best practice) was published on 29th July 2011 and is the first significant update to the guidance since 2007. For service managers who rely heavily on ITIL guidance in their day-to-day work and for those involved in ITIL education and consultancy, it is essential to understand what has changed and why, and what these revisions mean for the ITIL community.
Speakers at the Roadshow include Shirley Lacy, Project Mentor for the Update; authors Colin Rudd and Stuart Rance; and Phil Hearsum of the Best Management Practice team at The Cabinet Office, which oversees the ITIL guidance on behalf of the UK Government. At the London event, the speakers will be joined by industry luminary David Cannon, chairman of itSMF International, who has undertaken the long-awaited revision of the groundbreaking ITIL Service Strategy book.
The Roadshow will provide an excellent opportunity to network with other IT Service Management professionals and to discuss the future direction of ITIL best practice.
