Visit Anglesey and stay on a working farm! Wednesday 14 September 2011 PDF Print Where better to appreciate the hospitality of the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales, on your UK short break than in comfortable accommodation on one of the island's working farms? Seventeen Anglesey farming families have grouped together to offer 'Anglesey Farm Accommodation', a hallmark of the best bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation available on this beautiful island. Individually, each family has long experience of providing visitors with the very best service when they visit the Isle of Anglesey, and together the choice offered by this committed group is unbeatable. The group were formed in 2001 and since then, the number of accommodation providers has grown and their promotional material had become a little dated. A couple of the members were approached by their local Agrisgôp Leader, Mari Jones, who works with farming families to help them develop their businesses as part of the Farming Connect programme. Mari was able to offer help and support by working with group members to better understand the specific market they were aiming for by arranging training courses and getting the group to discuss the way forward collectively. The group agreed on all the text to go on the new site then approached a local company, Kulaweb, to design the layout of the new website. The site is now live, making it easy for people to book their UK short break, and the members are very pleased with the result. Mrs Gwen Williams of Penrhyn Farm says, “We had been wanting to develop a new website for a couple of years, but as you can imagine with a group of farmers wives we are all very busy and when we did get together we couldn’t all agree on the way forward! With Mari’s help and from the training we received, we were able to discuss as a group how we wanted the new site to look and all agreed on the colours and format and we are all very pleased with the result”. The group have already won a number of Tourism Awards and many of the individual farms have also won various awards for the quality of the accommodation provided. Mrs Ceri Jones of Henbont Farm says, “There is so much to offer on Anglesey and lots of different places to stay. By working together to create a new website we are making it easier for visitors who specifically want to stay on a farm by all being on the same site - we also have links to other tourism operators on the island and we hope this will boost visitor numbers for all of us”. www.angleseyfarms.com This press release was distributed by ResponseSource Press Release Wire on behalf of Visit Wales in the following categories: Travel, for more information visit https://pressreleasewire.responsesource.com/about.
