Coventry Building Society revamps its Microsoft Enterprise Agreement achieving greater flexibility and substantial cost savings with the help of Trustmarque
York, UK, 28th September 2011 – Value Added Reseller (VAR) Trustmarque Solutions announced today that its work with Coventry Building Society has enabled the organisation to achieve significant cost savings and added flexibility by using Trustmarque’s Commercial Benchmarking service. The benefits delivered to the building society were a result of a comprehensive asset and licence review following Coventry’s merger with Stroud and Swindon Building Society.
The merger in September 2010 transformed Coventry Building Society’s IT estate, adding 488 desktops to its existing 1400. A key goal following the acquisition was to consolidate the newly merged IT estate and ensure all of the software was appropriately licenced. John Stevenson, Head of IT Service Delivery at Coventry Building Society comments:

Stroud and Swindon had not maintained Software Assurances on its licences and the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement that Coventry had was due for renewal, therefore it was the perfect opportunity to consolidate all licences into one agreement. In order to do this however we first had to carry out due diligence on the new larger IT estate to establish whether there were any duplicates and to identify any reusable assets so we could consolidate for cost savings.”
Trustmarque helped Coventry with the process of asset discovery and licence review, working with the organisation to map out its technology needs over a three to six year period. With Trustmarque’s Commercial Benchmarking service, Coventry was provided with a comprehensive breakdown of the 12 most efficient licensing options and the merits of each. Coventry has achieved its goal to consolidate all of its licensing into a new agreement which covers its acquired assets. Coventry also has a clear view of its licensing position and a long term plan for its future technology implementation thanks to Trustmarque’s Software Procurement Consultancy team.
