The MAD Blog Awards Recognise the Best of British Mum and Dad Bloggers Monday 3 October 2011 PDF Print The MAD Blog Awards celebrate everything that is great about the UK’s parent blogging community. Second annual MAD Blog Award winners revealed at ceremony hosted by Parentdish.co.uk and TalkTalk 3 October 2011: The winners of the second annual MAD Blog Awards for British Mummy and Daddy bloggers were announced on Friday evening at a gala awards ceremony held at the TalkTalk Customer Experience Centre in the heart of London’s Soho. Around 100 of the country’s best-loved parent bloggers came together to find out the winners of the MAD Blog Awards, which were sponsored by Parentdish.co.uk, and hosted by TalkTalk. The MAD Blog Awards celebrate everything that is great about the UK’s parent blogging community. Fourteen winners were chosen by a public vote, while the winner of the Parentdish MAD Blogger of the Year Award was chosen by an independent voting panel. More than 50,000 nominations and votes were submitted in this year’s awards, but just 75 blogs made it through to the finals. “Last year’s awards were a great success and this year we’ve seen more nominations, a greater level of interest and the standard of the finalists was such that it was never going to be easy to predict the winners. We’re so proud of everyone who has taken part,” said Sally Whittle, founder of the MAD Blog Awards, and author of the Who's the Mummy? blog. Tamsin Kelly, editor of Parentdish.co.uk, added: “The MAD Blog Awards 2011, and our winners, really show the diversity and extraordinary quality of blogs that are being created in the UK. This has been a tremendous achievement by everyone involved, and shows the vital role that blogs continue to play in parents’ lives. We are very proud to have sponsored the 2011 MAD Blog Awards.” The 2011 MAD Blog Award Winners are: MAD Blogger of the Year 2011: Imagination Tree Sponsored by Parentdish.co.uk Runners up: Red Ted Art; Northern Mum; Transatlantic Blonde; Scribbling Mum; A Boy with Asperger's Most MAD Family Life Blog of the Year: Northern Mum Sponsored by Little Dish Runners up: Flower Fairies and Fairy Cakes; Mummy from the Heart; Patch of Puddles; Slummy Single Mummy; Scribbling Mum Best MAD Craft Blog: Red Ted Art Sponsored by Early Learning Centre Runners up: Nurture Store; Never Plain Jane; Imagination Tree; Mary Poppins Best Pregnancy Blog: Is There a Plan B?
