Single Skiers Friday 7 October 2011 PDF Print Singlesport has been looking after single skiers since it began with a group of 27 guests ten years ago Single Skiers----the solution! Singlesport has been looking after single skiers since it began with a group of 27 guests ten years ago. Now hundreds travel together year after year. One size does not fit all! Singlesport skiers are sociable but there the similarity ends! Skiers needs vary hugely; some are beginners, some experts and most “intermediate”, that wonderful word that includes most British skiers! Some insist on being on the first & last lift everyday whilst others get their thrill from finding a new restaurant with a breathtaking view! Some party all night whilst others prefer the log fire & hot chocolate! Singlesport works because its large groups allow everyone to find ski buddies who want to do it “their way”. Some companies run small groups every week of the season but this makes it unlikely to be able to match ski abilities on piste let alone party styles off piste! All chalets are friendly but unless you travel with a dedicated single group you might end up being the only single amongst families with children or couples. Singlesport calls a spade a spade when it comes to prices Singlesport accepts that hoteliers have a short season within which to make their money & so of course they will prefer to put two people in a room if they can. Singlesport offers to pair people up if they are happy to share and also seeks to find reasonable single supplements for those who prefer single occupancy. Some companies offer single occupancy without a supplement, but look closely; they have already inflated the price to include the supplement and have often had to choose poor resorts or locations in order to find hoteliers who will let all their rooms for single occupancy. Singlesport is not a dating agency Many Singlesport guests have partners at home who do not ski, they are guaranteed good company during their holiday. Some couples have met during Singlesport holidays & some still travel with Singlesport because of the large number of friends they made there. (Singlesport is ideal for couples who ski differently, one can race round the mountain clocking up the miles whilst the other is more cautious & enjoys a few coffees, neither need feel guilty that they are spoiling the others skiing.) The vast majority of Singlesport guests are of course single and enjoy their holiday with likeminded skiers. Singlesport chooses the tour operator Singlesport is a ski club not a tour operator which means they can choose the best holidays. Ruth who runs Singlesport takes the bookings & helps you choose the holiday that’s right for you. Once your choice is made you pay your money to the tour operator so that you are protected by their terms and conditions. Some holidays include flights whereas others allow you to travel from your local airport & meet in Geneva or Salzburg. If you are not used to this Ruth will help & introduce you to other guests who will be on the same flight or might even want to share airport parking. Support Passionate skiers always want to help and at Singlesport this is guaranteed. Ruth offers those who need it a wealth of experience before leaving the UK and once you arrive in the chalet the other guests and staff will all be ready to help and advise should you need it. 5 holidays 2011/12 This season Singlesport are offering 3 very different types of holidays: 12 November—Kaprun—Austria---this holiday is perfect for intermediates wanting to improve their technique at the beginning of the season.
