20th October 2011 is National Stockings Day and Tights Please are jumping on board with Charnos Hosiery to celebrate plus help raise money for Breast Cancer Care!

2011 marks the 75th anniversary of Charnos Hosiery and so to commemorate the occasion, the hosiery experts have designed a very special collection of gorgeous stockings, tights and hold ups all inspired by beautiful women throughout history and designed specifically to tailor to different leg shapes. The collection is inspired by; the one and only Marilyn Monroe, First Lady Jackie Kennedy, Hollywood legend Katharine Hepburn, WWII pin up Betty Grable, 60s sex symbol Brigitte Bardot and Hollywood actress Ava Gardner. £1.00 of every pair of Ava, Katharine or Marilyn stockings sold between Monday 17th and Sunday 23rd October will go to support Breast Cancer Care.

Stockings have become a fashion staple this season and a favourite amongst celebrities such as Rihanna, who recently wore an opaque pair for the We Found Love video; other celebs who love this look include Taylor Momsen and Dita Von Teese, along with Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. It seems stockings are also more popular than Hold Ups as in an online poll at, 53% of customers prefer sexy stockings!
