For the first time ever, a cloud based accounting system has been integrated with the Microsoft Outlook e-mail application allowing products and services to be invoiced and sold directly through Outlook.
The E-conomic outlook app e-cotime has been developed by Danish company iAdvice which provides customised IT solutions on major ERP platforms. Developed based on their own needs the app has increased invoicing by 20%
“We use the E-conomic system ourselves and noticed we weren’t invoicing for many smaller tasks because our consultants were not using the accounting system on a daily basis – they don’t register time in E-conomic but they use Outlook all the time,” said Johnny Hansen, CEO of iAdvice.
The e-cotime app appears as an additional menu item in Outlook. The user simply selects the time in their calendar, enters a description for the work carried out and then chooses customers, orders and products. This is all automatically transferred to the E-conomic system which means that all the information is available for the accountant or bookkeeper for invoicing purposes.
The app is currently only available in Danish but will be rolled out across Europe in the next few months.
E-conomic is committed to supporting the development of new apps through its open application programming interface and has seen the number of apps increase by over 40% in the last year.
