John Lewis Cheadle completes £19m shop refurbishment Wednesday 9 November 2011 PDF Print John Lewis Cheadle has celebrated the completion of its nine - month, £19m refurbishment. The 16-year-old department store has been given a complete makeover with the introduction of new retail concepts and a host of new brands to enhance customers’ shopping experience. The refurbishment, which is part of the retailer’s growth strategy through investing in existing department stores, culminated in the unveiling of a visual merchandise display by renowned stylist Emma Davidge. Emma, who has worked with brands such as Louis Vuitton, has applied her innovative approach to create a breathtaking display of fabric jellyfish on the ground floor. The refurbishment has seen John Lewis Cheadle become the first John Lewis department store to showcase the Beauty Retreat. The spa service launched in August and is already proving a huge hit with Cheadle shoppers. The Beauty Retreat offers treatments such as facials, manicures, pedicures, eyebrow/eyelash tinting and threading from a host of premium brands including Clarins, Elemis, Decleor, Blink and Jessica. The Kitchen, a Mediterranean-style eatery, is another first for John Lewis, offering an array of , meals and sharing platters. The new-look shop also includes new concept menswear, home and electronics departments. The new consumer electronics concept allows customers to fully interact with products across the electricals and home technology range for the first time. Stocking all the very latest products, many of the ranges are exclusive to John Lewis. Customers also have the opportunity to opt into additional services such as the installation of software and helplines. The new home concept includes a refurbishment of furnishing fabrics, linens, bath accessories and furniture. Easier for customers to navigate, the departments offer customers a broader range of choice from own brand to branded products, incorporating more contemporary, trend lead designs. The menswear concept has been created to provide customers with the definitive choice of own, national and international brands. As well as a host of new brands, the concept sees the expansion of John Lewis’s own brand, all edited to suit customers’ fashion and lifestyle needs.
