Specialist procurement consultancy Efficio and their client Thames Water have won two major industry awards for their innovative procurement service outsourcing model.
In April this year Efficio took over £500 million-a-year sourcing covering both direct and indirect spend under the five-year deal with Thames Water, the largest water company in the UK.
The National Outsourcing Association Awards is the major national awards recognising companies who have demonstrated excellence in this field. NOA members include IBM, Fujitsu, HP and KPMG. The Efficio / Thames Water Managed Procurement service model won in the following award categories:
• Outsourcing project of the year - telecommunications, utilities and high-tech
• Outsourcing end-user of the year
Efficio and Thames Water were competing with major companies including Centrica, IBM and the Co-Operative Banking Group for the awards which were presented at a ceremony in London.
