(London, UK)Last month, the UK’s leading independent office search service, saw a member of its 60-strong team awarded the title of 2011 Broker Representative of the Year by her industry peers from the Business Centre Association (BCA).

While this award came as a welcome acknowledgment of the effective working relationships established and maintained by his colleague Rebecca-Jane Strawford, for Chris Meredith, UK Head of Sales at the Midlands based firm, the values which underpinned her win represent the minimum standards that all businesses should be aiming for.

“Consumers continue to be offered alternatives, but it is people like Rebecca-Jane that make all the difference.” explains Chris Meredith

“People like to deal with people. They like to feel that their needs have been understood, acted on and that the help & advice they are receiving is focused on matching their needs with the products currently available in the market.”

“While this may sound straight-forward it does not always happen, particularly during tough times when employees can often feel more pressure to close the sale and find the next prospect.

A specialist in helping those businesses seeking offices to rent in London, Chris believes that the example set by Rebecca-Jane is testament to the focus she places on providing a complete service.

“As Rebecca-Jane has demonstrated so well, it is the ability to remain focused on understanding and working alongside colleagues and customers alike that adds real value. This has made her and subsequently everyone here at standout.”

While the award comes from within the industry, which is comprised of around 2500 business centre across the UK, Chris explains that the added value brought by Rebecca-Jane starts with her ability to first build strong relationships with the clients she helps on a daily basis.

“You are only as good as your weakest team member.” concludes Chris Meredith.

“The focus therefore has to be on highlighting individuals such as Rebecca-Jane and providing the tools and support so that the rest of your team can learn from and aspire to match them.”

Entering its eleventh year, the BCA event was held in Central London and generated a record number of nominations in 2011, with additional categories providing recognitions for both those operating flexible, as well as trade suppliers serving the serviced office industry.
