The new Christmas facebook app from Own A Colour, the global fundraising initiative powered by Dulux, allows the public to buy their friends and family their very own personal colour for a minimum donation of £1 per colour, with all money raised being donated to UNICEF. Gifting a colour for Christmas couldn’t be easier, simply visit the Own A Colour facebook page and select the facebook friend you would like to give a colour gift to. Once you’ve made your donation, a personalised link is posted to your friend’s facebook wall notifying them of their gift. The recipient can then choose and name their colour and, with over 16.7 million colours still available, they’re sure to be able to find their perfect shade – whether it’s their favourite colour, the colour of their favourite garment or even just a colour just reminds them of something festive. A number of celebrities have already bought colours for their families to support the initiative. UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Sir Roger Moore named a shade of blue ‘Swedish Blue’ for his wife after her homeland, while UNICEF UK Ambassador Jemima Khan opted for ‘CFC Blue’ for her son, who’s a big fan of Chelsea Football Club. Even ex-prime minister, Gordon Brown, has also bought a colour for his wife, Sarah, naming it ‘majestic’.
