THEALE, April 26, 2000- ELSA, the computer graphics and internet access
vendor, has unveiled its GLADIAC range of PC graphics boards based on the
new GeForce2 GTS chip from nVIDIA. PC gamers will experience new levels of
detail and speed thanks to the chip's hypertexel architecture, which
delivers a two-fold performance improvement on the previous generation
GeForce 256 chip.

Thanks to hypertexel and second generation 'transform and lighting'
processors, up to 25 million triangles are transformed and illuminated per
second (in 32-bit colour mode). In this mode, each of the four hypertexel
pipelines process two textures per pixel. This enables the new ELSA GLADIAC
graphics board to display 3D games in the highest resolution and colour
depth, creating a far more realistic image than previously attainable.

All graphics boards of the "GLADIAC" family use the double-data-RAM memory
technology (DDR) and come in either 32Mb or 64Mb memory versions. Thanks to
the DVI (digital video interface), you can also connect digital displays.
ELSA also continues to support the more common VGA-D-sub plug.

In order to get the best picture quality and performance from the video
support of the "GeForce2 GTS" chip, ELSA decided on an innovative video
module solution. For ELSA GLADIAC, an add-on professional SVHS video module
will be available. This provides a SVHS video input and output - ideal for
video editing, Internet videoconferences, video chat and the viewing of TV
programs in full-screen mode. Users will also be able to play DVD movies in
SVHS quality on connected TVs.

ELSA will begin shipping the 32Mb version of the "GLADIAC" graphics board
from mid-May with subsequent versions to follow shortly afterwards. All
boards come with optimised ELSA drivers and useful software tools along with
the video editing software MainActor and the DVD player ELSAmovie.
