Hyperglance V. 1.3 to be demonstrated at Booth # 506
A visibly different approach to prioritized IT decision-making

Hyperglance v1.3 enables prioritized IT decision-making by delivering a clear perspective of the business impact of problems and potential actions. This revolutionary IT modeling and visualization software product from Real Status is being demonstrated at VMware Partner Exchange in Las Vegas (13-16 February 2012) and will reveal every dimension of inter-dependence between applications and infrastructure - all at the same time and all on a single screen. It’s an innovative solution that replaces confusion with clarity, allowing you to allocate your resources based on real priorities, not guesswork

This new version 1.3, whose theme is “Filtering”, improves on 1.2 by allowing the creation and saving of filters via the GUI in an intuitive, easy to use manner. Graphical User Interface (GUI) is a type of user interface that allows users to interact with electronic devices with images rather than text commands. This allows ordinary users to rapidly display what is important to them, allowing more prioritized decisions, quicker time to fix, more rapid insight into capacity planning and it enhances the ability to share IT knowledge to non-technical colleagues.

Stace Hipperson, CTO of Real Status says: “Hyperglance is continually evolving and this latest version has been further enhanced to provide an even better user experience. We have made it more accessible to non-programers by allowing everyone to create and save filters through the GUI, quickly and easily. The overall visual impact is also far more impressive. It has to be seen to be fully appreciated.”

New client features include:

• Accelerate route cause analysis
Facilitate faster route cause analysis by visualizing precisely where and why a problem has occurred, rather than using log files and error tables. Visualizing the problem in context reduces mean time to repair which can lower costs and risks.

• Reduce cyber-security risks
All security risks are not of equal concern. With Hyperglance, analysts and operators can see which security vulnerabilities and alarms are related to critical business applications. Then, actions to address risks can be taken in priority of reducing the total exposure to risk for the business, rather than ‘first come, first served’.

• Manage applications across hybrid clouds
Models your complete physical, virtual and cloud based infrastructure and applications simultaneously – in one place – at one time. You can see inter-dependencies and understand how your complete infrastructure is performing rather than wasting your time jumping between disconnected component dashboards. Users can also see where data is being stored and processed to help comply with regulations on financial data and data privacy. Again, both costs and business risks are reduced by using Hyperglance.

• Improve resilience & disaster recovery
Check compliance between primary and back-up systems by visualizing them together saving time and money in compliance checking. Accelerate disaster recovery start-up by seeing each layer online and in real time, reducing business risk and minimizing any disruption to the business.

• Troubleshoot VM performance
See unused VM and unnecessary snapshots, so wasted storage can be freed up and money saved.

• Increase capacity utilization
Capacity problems and solutions can be seen on the same screen with Hyperglance. Heat maps show how chronic over and under-utilization can be balanced. Hyperglance also shows all the historical information needed to ensure that the proposed change does not create another problem upstream or downstream. When planning larger changes, Hyperglance enables users to see overall patterns of use and how related resources are being used – all at the same time. This improves the productivity of planners and lowers infrastructure costs.

• Differentiate MSP performance
HyperGlance can improve service and lower costs in shared service centers, for example, in the help desk of a Managed Service Provider. In these environments, infrastructure is used to support multiple clients. There may infrastructure dedicated to a single client alongside infrastructure shared for many clients. When a client calls with a problem, it would be extremely valuable if the infrastructure supporting that client was isolated from all the rest for faster troubleshooting.

About Real Status

Real Status is an IT infrastructure modeling and data visualization software company, and our flagship product is Hyperglance. Hyperglance automatically builds three dimensional models showing the dependencies between IT applications and infrastructure. It aggregates and visualizes performance and security data from existing IT management tools on the model in real time.

Hyperglance enables CIOs, IT managers and their teams to see their management data and key dependencies in one place and at one time for thousands of connected devices. Their priorities and decisions are based on understanding the business impact of problems and proposed IT changes, which reduces risks, lowers costs, and improves capacity utilisation.

Real Status’ market is enterprises and managed service providers with virtualized and distributed computing environments. Real Status is based in Cambridge, UK and San Jose, California, USA.
