EDW, the UK’s leading producer of electricity retail software, is delighted to announce the addition of a news section
EDW, the UK’s leading producer of electricity retail software, is delighted to announce the addition of a news section to their website designed to give visitors all the latest industry news, as well as regular updates on the energy wholesale market, downloadable reports and essential information on regulation changes.
The principle behind the news section is to filter through the enormous amount of press coverage that the industry is subject to, and to deliver clear, concise and informative breakdowns of the most important events on a daily and weekly basis.
“There is so much information out there that it can be confusing as well as time consuming to try and filter out the relevant factors,” explains EDW Service Delivery Director, Graham Paul. “In an attempt to bring a level of clarity to the situation, we are using our inside knowledge and expertise of the industry to pick out the information that is most relevant to our readers. The news section will present it in a clear, easy to understand format that ignores any hype or exaggeration and concentrates purely on the facts,” he adds.
A snapshot of the markets
The news site will be broken down into three, easy to navigate areas. The Industry News Roundup will give a bitesize rundown on key headline industry press coverage that is most relevant to business electricity suppliers.
The Wholesale Market Review, covering Gas, Electricity, Oil, Coal, Carbon and Bio Mass, will provide an informative and precise roundup of the energy wholesale markets. This easy to read format will give an at-a-glance snapshot summary of the markets and also includes a free weekly download that goes into more detail on the individual markets.
Regulation changes as they are approved
Finally, the Regulatory Change News brings you all the latest developments in approved regulatory change. There are two main areas of regulation that have to be considered when attempting to address an electricity suppliers’ IT systems industry compliance:
• Master Registration Agreement (MRA)
• Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC)
Changes to the MRA (including ECOES) and the BSC (including the Market Domain Data) are controlled and agreed on a regular basis with publicly available information.
EDW monitors the industry on a monthly basis and publishes a review of scheduled industry changes “this section is particularly important for retail suppliers, as there is a continuous flow of changes that can impact supplier’s information technology,” comments Graham. “By having a single point of reference where all the key information is gathered together in one place, we hope that we’re providing an additional service for our clients and interested parties alike.”
