With uberlife, bands can form stronger relationships with fans, help fans connect with each other, and reach a larger audience
London – uberlife a new iPhone app that will officially launch in the US during South by Southwest, is offering a set of features to help musicians and bands connect with fans and gain more exposure during SXSW.
“Thanks to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, bands can easily and instantly connect with their fans online. Now, uberlife helps them bridge the digital/physical divide and connect just as easily in the ‘real world,’” said uberlife CEO and Founder Sanchita Saha. “With uberlife, bands can form stronger relationships with fans, help fans connect with each other, and reach a larger audience.”
While most social apps today are for sharing moments of our lives with friends and networks, uberlife is about making those moments happen. Bands, for example, can use uberlife to create "hangouts" for scheduled gigs or spontaneous, casual "meet and greets" while they're on the road or at festivals. These “hangouts” tell fans where the band is going to be and when, or where they are right now. Whoever is free is invited to come join.
With uberlife’s custom notifications, bands can add tags to their hangouts, such as “Indie” or “rock,” that notify and invite everyone from the local uberlife community who are Indie or rock fans to join. Hangouts can also be broadcast on Facebook and Twitter.
During the hangout, fans can check in, upload photos and post comments to the hangout, creating a digital scrapbook of the event. Additionally, fans can follow each other on uberlife afterwards to hang out again in future. They can also connect their Facebook ‘Likes’ and Last FM accounts to uberlife and follow interest tags - ensuring they get notifications when their favorite bands create a hangout. Plus, everyone who joins can broadcast the hangout to their networks as well, creating viral promotion.

uberlife makes hanging out with your online networks and new, likeminded people in "offline” settings easier, faster and more fun. While most social apps today are for sharing moments of our lives with our friends and networks, uberlife is about making those moments happen. Now available in the iTunes App Store, uberlife simplifies and speeds up the process of finding and coordinating friends and people to do things with, when you want to do them. You just create a "hangout" to let friends, followers, and your local uberlife community know what you're going to do, where and when, and see who’s up for hanging out.
