CTEK, the leading innovator of the smart battery charger, has announced that it is sponsoring highly talented winter orienting skier, Kajsa Richardson, as she strives towards achieving a world championship medal in the World Ski Orienteering Championships in Kazakhstan in 2013.

Ski Orienteering is an endurance winter sport combining navigation and cross-country skiing across a rough terrain using prepared cross-country ski tracks. Combining high physical endurance and strength, excellent technical skiing skills and the ability to choose the best routes, ski orienteering is renowned to be one of the toughest events recognised by the Olympics. As a result, Kajsa often travels the world to train in some of the toughest environments to hone her navigation and endurance skills.

Jan-ulf Soderberg, Head of Brand and Marketing at CTEK, commented: “We’re delighted to be able to support such an upcoming and home-grown talent in her quest for glory on the international stage. Unfortunately a 12V Battery Charger won’t charge Kajsa’s batteries so she trains extremely hard every day to ensure that she is going to be ready for and competitive in Kazakhstan in 2013.

Kajsa, who works part-time for CTEK, commented: “Sponsoring me and helping to fund my training is a big commitment and I’m so grateful of CTEK’s support. It has allowed me to travel the world to test myself in some of the best training environments in the world. The backing and moral support of the CTEK team will give me the best chance of success in Kazakhstan next year - hopefully I’ll be returning with a medal to show them all.”

CTEK also sponsors the Honda British Touring Car team, as well as supplies them with its leading battery charging units, which drove to success and achieved all three major honours in the 2011 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season.
