Adventure motorcyclist, entertainer and travel writer Charley Boorman has renewed his long-standing relationship with Carole Nash, the UK’s favourite motorcycle insurance broker.
Boorman, who first became a Carole Nash ambassador in 2010, will reprise his role for 2012, lending support to the brand’s media and marketing activities.
The renewed agreement between Charley and Carole Nash reflects his enduring appeal as a global emissary for motorcycling in general and, in particular, one who has helped to raise the profile of biking in the UK.
A regular contributor to motorcycling’s leading weekly publication, Motor Cycle News, Charley is perhaps best-known for his intrepid adventures, Long Way Round (2004) and Long Way Down (2007), which introduced him to a global television audience with friend and fellow-actor, Ewan McGregor.
For 2012, Charley will continue to attend motorcycle shows on behalf of Carole Nash and provide regular updates to his blog on the company’s website -www.carolenash.com/insidebikes. Carole Nash customers will also benefit from discounts on Charley’s prodigious output of books, DVDs and tickets to his shows.
“We’re really excited to have Charley back on board for 2012,” said Rebecca Donohue, head of marketing at Carole Nash. “His appeal with a broad motorcycling audience fits very well with our customers and we’re looking forward to continue working with him.”
Charley commented: “I’m so happy to be able to continue representing Carole Nash as a brand ambassador. The company has a really special affinity with Britain’s bikers and understands their needs precisely – and not just for insurance products. It’s a privilege for me to fly the Carole Nash flag further afield, too, and I’ll be doing that on another adventure through Africa later this summer.”
Carole Nash was ranked as the UK’s 39th biggest UK insurance broker and the UK’s 11th biggest personal lines broker in August 2011 by Insurance Times magazine. The company employs over 300 staff in the UK and Ireland and provides insurance for some 300,000 classic, vintage, modern, custom and off road motorcycles – around 20 percent of all licensed machines. It is also a leading player in the classic car sector with its portfolio also spanning modern car, van, military vehicle, travel and home insurance.
