Liberata UK Limited has today announced that Sir Peter Rogers has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Liberata Board.

Sir Peter will also fulfil the role of Advisor and Chairman of the CapacityGRID Board, with the mandate to support the progression of the CapacityGRID within the local government market.

Sir Peter Rogers said: “I look forward to joining the Liberata Board at a time of great change. I am particularly excited about the CapacityGRID and its ability to increase efficiency in local government. This gives all Councils control over current performance and their options to transform services. This is exactly what I needed as a Local Authority Chief Executive.”

Liberata Chief Executive Officer, Dermot Joyce, said: “Sir Peter brings the knowledge and experience of more than 15 years working within the public sector. He understands what our market needs and how innovation can bring real value to local government and we look forward to his contribution to our business.”

Prior to this appointment, Sir Peter was an Advisor to Boris Johnson for Regeneration, Growth and Enterprise at the Greater London Authority.

He is a former Chief Executive Officer of Westminster City Council and Chief Executive Officer of the London Development Agency. Prior to that Sir Peter worked in the private sector as a senior executive in one of the leading national transport operators.

Notes to Editors:

Liberata is one of the UK’s leading providers of innovative business services, with a particular focus on the public sector. It is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable managed services providers in the UK, having supported its clients for more than 35 years.

CapacityGRID was launched by Liberata in September 2011. It is a market place, through which local authorities can connect, collaborate and share resources and work.

CapacityGRID provides an alternative to traditional service delivery methods such as outsourcing or in-house solutions, optimising resources in a way we believe is unprecedented.

More than 30 Local Authorities are already connected to CapacityGRID and membership continues to grow each month.
