Sunday’s Premier League season finale was one of the most dramatic to date, with both Manchester City and Manchester United taking a win. But with Manchester City’s late show to defeat QPR leading them to secure the Premier League title, it was also great news for punters of Coral.co.uk, the leading football betting website, as the two injury-time goals sparked Coral’s Consolation Cashback concession.

The Consolation Cashback applies to online pre-match bets and only if an injury time goal turns a winning bet to a loser. This meant losing bets on a QPR win and a draw were refunded, along with losing correct score, scorecast and last goalscorer bets.

David Stevens, of Coral, said: “With QPR leading 2-1, we were set to clean up, not just on Manchester City win bets, but on the Premier League outright as well, as City were by far the worst result in the ante-post book. However, Edin Dzeko’s equaliser saw us refund stakes on a QPR win, and Sergio Aguero’s winner meant draw bets were also given back, so there were no losing result punters on coral.co.uk on the match.

“We have refunded stakes on 90 occasions this season thanks to the concession, meaning more than £150,000 has been given back to our online customers, and we’ll be continuing with the offer during Euro 2012, when hopefully dramatic finishes will be few and far between!”
