A grand day out at Powis Castle

On Monday 4 June, 11am – 5.30pm visitors on their UK family holiday are invited to travel back to 1952 with vintage stalls, performers and a giant screen showing jubilee footage and a never seen before film reel from a very famous couple.
You can bring your own picnic or order a diamond cream tea complete champagne. Competition tents will house beautiful floral arrangements and amazing vegetables. Retro photo booths and a vintage funfair will all add to your enjoyment., all in the amazing setting of Powis Castle.

And for those wanting to get involved we invite you to enter the Competition Marquee where the competition categories are all on the theme of “Diamond Jubilee” and include categories such as Flower Arrangement in oasis, Funny Vegetable (the most peculiar shaped vegetable), Decorated Cakes, Pictures (painting/drawing), Photographs and 1950s beach scene on a tea tray.

Powis Castle is well worth visiting on any day of your UK family holiday. It began life as the medieval fortress of the Welsh princes of Powys, who held onto their kingdom despite the threats of their more powerful neighbours in Gwynedd and England.
