28th May 2012, London, UK – Power Efficiency, the Balfour Beatty owned energy procurement and carbon management consultancy, has today announced that Director for Carbon Management, John Field, has been appointed vice president of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) at the organisation's annual general meeting on May 10th 2012.

Mr Field has been a member of CIBSE for 20 years, and will start the role of vice president immediately. He is considered to be one of the industry's influential figures and advises businesses and government on the development of legislation for carbon reduction. He is also author of the guide setting national benchmarks used for mandatory building energy performance certification and the guide on energy use in offices 'Energy Consumption Guide 19', widely referenced in Building Regulations.

Speaking of his appointment John Field said, “As a member of CIBSE for many years I have worked to promote the high standards expected of its membership – Power Efficiency has also been working closely with CIBSE since 2007. New challenges await CIBSE and its members over the coming years and I look forward to being able to play a more active role in the management team to drive us on to even greater things.”

John Field joins incumbent CIBSE vice presidents Peter Kinsella and Peter Wong.
