Children aged 10 and under are encouraged to design a fabulous bedroom to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee

With Her Majesty’s 60 years on the throne just around the corner and the nation getting together for a jolly good celebration, Dreams, Britain’s leading bed specialist, has launched an exciting competition to introduce its new range of children’s beds and bedroom furniture, hoping to bring together the best aspiring young designers to create a spiffing bedroom fit for the Queen.

Children aged 10 and under are encouraged to design a fabulous bedroom to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, to be in with a chance of winning £500 to spend on children’s bedroom furniture, suitably fit for princes and princesses. The launch comes alongside the introduction of a whole new range of children’s bedroom furniture including the delightful ‘Alice’ range fit for the little princess, or the versatile ‘Snoop’ collection for the lively little prince.

The competition runs from 29 May to 12 June and welcomes designers in the making to get creative and craft the Crown Jewels of bedrooms which would make our Queen proud. Each entry is submitted through their parents or friends blog and one lucky winner will take home the top prize.

Lynn Hayzelden, Marketing Director of Dreams Beds, said: “We’re really excited to be offering this competition as a way to celebrate this once in a lifetime event with our nation. It’s great to get children involved in such a special event and should keep them busy over the half term holidays! We’re looking forward to seeing lots of creative masterpieces.”

For a chance of winning £500 to spend on a children’s bedroom, here’s how to enter:

• Design a bedroom fit for the Queen; it must include a bed, the rest is up to the designer
• Take a photo if the design has been created or scan and upload the little designer’s creation to a blog
• Tweet Dreams Beds partners @britbloggers with the hashtag #Queensize to inform them of each entry

All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges, including top mummy blogger Pippa from A Mother’s Ramblings. Entries will be judged on imagination and how much the design makes the judges smile.
