Businesses interested in attending the event on the 27th of June are encouraged to register

Berkshire, 1st June 2012. The Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (TVB LEP) announces the Collaborating for Growth political launch event, to be jointly hosted with Home Secretary Rt Hon Theresa May MP on the 27th of June 2012 from 08.30 to 10.30 in the private dining rooms at the House of Commons. The TVB LEP is inviting all Businesses in the Thames Valley region who are keen to attend to register their interest via the TVB LEP website. They will be selecting companies to represent the whole spectrum of businesses in Thames Valley Berkshire to ensure all sectors and sizes are represented.

The TVB LEP firmly believes that the Thames Valley is the best place to live, flourish and do business, and is working closely with local businesses to grow economic confidence and prosperity throughout the region. This key leadership event will officially mark the launch of TVB LEP with parliament and Rt Hon Theresa May MP will deliver the opening remarks. Steve Lamb, Chair of the TVB LEP will talk about the mission of TVB LEP, and how businesses can get involved. Emma Gibson, Director at TVB LEP and Partner at Shoosmith will talk about her involvement and what motivates her to help drive the TVB LEP economy.

Steve Lamb, Chair of the TVB LEP commented: “This is a fantastic platform for the TVB LEP to communicate its core initiatives - improving transport infrastructure and widening access to superfast broadband, attracting inward investment, and developing skills and education to ensure we have the workforce we need for the 21st century. Thames Valley businesses have the opportunity to collaborate on Thames Valley Berkshire’s future and lend their support. Together we can work to maintain and grow the economic prosperity of the Thames Valley.”

The launch will be attended by local government ministers, key stakeholders and business leaders from large and small businesses. This announcement comes after the highly successful Collaborating for Growth Business to Business Show, which was held at the Madejski Stadium in Reading on the 18th April 2012 and sponsored by the TVB LEP and the Berkshire Media Group (BMG).

Thames Valley based businesses interested in attending this free event should visit the TVB LEP website to register. Places are limited and will be allocated by 15th of June, 2012, so businesses who wish to register should apply straight away –
