For an exclusive tour of his ancestral home and a great UK day out visit the Earl of Powis at Powis Castle at 10am on Friday 25TH May & Friday 29th June for only £10!
Imagine how it would feel to have ancestors who lived at the beautiful Powis Castle & Gardens from as early as 1587. If you came from a long history of Barons, Viscounts, Marquesses and Lords, how many stories would you have to tell?
Would you like to know which object was gifted from the Pope? Are you curious how the 1st Century BC cat with snake was acquired? All these questions and many more will be answered as the 8th Earl of Powis offers his exclusive, public tour.
Alison Dyer, Assistant Visitor Services Manager said, ‘This is a rare honour that we are really excited about. To have a private tour of PowisCastle with the 8th Earl himself will be a very special treat for anyone interested in history or who love to hear stories from one of the most fascinating families in Great Britain. All tickets were sold out for the first tour in March of this year so early booking is highly recommended. Separate tickets are required for following Castle & Garden access.’
The castle and gardens opened for the 2012 season on Thursday 1st March and are a great UK day out for all the family. The gardens open from 11am to 5:30pm with the castle opening an hour earlier than usual at 12 noon. There will not only be an extra hour in the castle but a brand new restaurant for visitors to enjoy. The tea room in the gardens will also be open every day, offering a new range of pancakes to fill hungry tummies.
