Starting Friday 27th of July TopBetta will be launching one of their trademark sports betting tournaments (everyone is given $1000 of fake money and competes for a pot by making bets), but this time there will be a difference. All of the proceeds will be going to Downs Syndrome International.
The tournament will have a guaranteed pot of $500 which could be set to rise and entry will be $10 and should this event be a success it could become a self-funded regular event raising much needed funds for DSI in a period of severe economic issues. Down Syndrome International (DSi) is an international charity, comprising a membership of individuals and organisations from all over the World, committed to ensuring quality of life and human rights for all people with Downs syndrome.
Our members include people with Down syndrome, parents, family members and friends, carers, professionals, practitioners, researchers, organisations and people who are just interested in Down syndrome.
The Daily Sport has even offered to help promote the event to make it a success with their MD Grant Miller being a large supporter of the charity’s work and understandably a big fan of sports betting. The DAILY SPORT owner Grant Miller said"It's great to get involved in something we love like betting especially when it's in aid of such a worth cause as Downs Syndrome International"
TopBetta’s COO Craig Pearce had this to say “We’re really glad to have the opportunity to work with such a great charity and we’re looking forward to doing our bit. The Gambling Industry does get a bit of a bad reputation at times, but it does have a long standing history of giving something back and we hope to continue this”.
