DevelopIQ and Destiny Wireless Included on Framework to Provide Digital Pen Solutions to Public Sector Organisations
London, UK – 26 June 2012 Anoto, creator of the digital pen and paper technology, today announces that two of its Platinum partners, DevelopIQ and Destiny Wireless, have been selected for the Digital Pen Framework for the UK. The Digital Pen Framework was set up by Solent Supplies Team (SST), an NHS procurement organisation.
The Digital Pen Framework now covers the entire public sector, making it easier for public sector organisations to procure digital pen solutions to assist them with the data capture of handwritten notes and forms. The technology has already been used successfully in many health services projects, but with the new Digital Pen Framework, all public sector organisations can purchase the technology from the approved organisation’s, without the need for Individual and lengthy procurement and tendering processes.
“The framework will allow greater discounts for public sector organisation, contributing towards the national savings targets’ Celine Machola, senior procurement negotiator for SST. “The framework will allow public sector organisations to gain quicker access to the benefits of digital pen technologies that provide both clinical and commercial benefits. After a rigorous evaluation process, we are delighted to include DevelopIQ, Destiny Wireless, and Digital Ink onto the preferred suppliers list for the Digital Pen Framework.”
DevelopIQ have delivered a multi award winning digital pen solution to Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust’s 120 midwives and are now working with Portsmouth and other midwifery units around the UK to enhance this solution. In Wales it has recently worked with Aneurin Bevan Health Board to deliver an integrated digital pen solution for the Gwent Frailty Consortia targeted at improving the care of Frail citizens in their homes. This solution, initially launched to 200 users, has generated estimated annual cost savings of £600,000.
“The evaluation process for the Digital Pen Framework has been incredibly tough, but with public sector organisations now being able to buy from the preferred solution providers, the process provides them with confidence that the public sector is getting the best possible price for their digital pen solution,” says co-founder and CEO of DevelopIQ, Robert Bakewell. “Together with our NHS customers, we have proven that digital pen solutions deliver significant care benefits and major savings in operational costs. With the launch of this purchasing framework, public sector organisations will be able to implement similar solutions much faster.”
Destiny Wireless has recently provided a digital pen solution to The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust and Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as well as partnering with FACE Recording and Measuring Systems Ltd and Intouch with Health. Destiny Wireless has also received accreditation from the Information Governance Statement of Compliance Team (IGSOC) certifying that their services pass the necessary NHS security requirements.
IGSOC accreditation means that Destiny Wireless can now deliver even more efficiency savings to the NHS utilising the access to the N3 connection. N3 is the private national broadband network for the NHS, linking hospitals, medical centres and GPs in England and Scotland.
“To have been included in the Digital Pen Framework is a great achievement for Destiny Wireless. We are looking forward to continuing our work within the public sector throughout the UK to identify how they can reduce costs while meeting today’s stringent electronic records requirements,” said Edward Belgeonne, CEO and Founder of Destiny Wireless. “The public sector will benefit from the Digital Pen Framework immensely as it reduces both the capital expenditure and the overall deployment time of a project.”
“The Digital Pen Framework will enable public sector organisations to procure the best in class Anoto digital pen solutions from DevelopIQ, Destiny Wireless, and Digital Ink without having lengthy tender processes to deal with,” said Anoto executive vice president of sales and marketing, Joakim Nydemark. “DevelopIQ, Destiny Wireless, and Digital Ink have developed significant solutions in the public sector space that have saved hundreds of thousands of pounds and have also made significant benefits to streamlining document processes.”
