UK based global data capture specialist, DRS Data Services Ltd, has successfully provided their specialist electronic elections solution for the National Society for Education in Art and Design (NSEAD) and their bespoke data capture services to First TransPennine Express (FTPE), demonstrating why the company has become a trusted partner to governments and local authorities worldwide and UK Trade Unions.

The NSEAD and FTPE projects were highlighted by DRS at the NHS Confederation 2012 in Manchester during June to demonstrate the security, efficiency, flexibility and most importantly cost benefits of utilising DRS as an election services partner.

As the leading national authority concerned with art, craft and design across all phases of education in the UK and as a constituted Trade Union, NSEAD elects a President on a two year cycle. The President is elected from and by the 2500 strong members. Having previously provided electronic election services to NSEAD for an industrial action vote, DRS was appointed to fulfil an end to end solution, starting with the design and production of a personalised voting pack, through to capturing all voting data and the production of an independent scrutineers report.
Lesley Butterworth, NSEAD general secretary commented; “DRS provided NSEAD with a thorough, cost efficient, friendly service.”

Charlotte Pears, employee relations manager for FTPE was also quick to praise DRS with regard to their complete project management of a survey of First TransPennine Express’ employees, commenting; “DRS provided a timely and professional service. They were able to respond to very tight deadlines and deliver a survey and results service which yielded valuable information.”

DRS’ electronic solutions are renowned for their ability to deliver time critical, high volume and complex data capture projects such as FTPE’s employee survey regarding possible industrial action. DRS’ non-government elections specialist Simon Thomson, explains; “With several decades experience, knowledge and expertise, DRS has earned the reputation as a global leader in scanning, recognition and processing solutions across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Most crucially at a time of austerity we can offer cost efficient, high quality, reliable and secure solutions, delivered efficiently.”

DRS has over 40 years experience in delivering data capture projects around the world, specialising in examination and assessment processing and election and census solutions. Systems are implemented using the Company’s extensive expertise in document design, printing, award winning scanning and image capture technologies, software, logistics, project management and consultancy.
