What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a gentle, non-intrusive complementary therapy that encourages the body to work naturally to restore and maintain its own healthy balance. How may reflexology help me?

Reflexology can be used to achieve a sense of wellbeing and as a way to relax the mind and body. Reflexology may also help with the management of a number of health related matters such as: relieve of tension, stress and anxiety, pain management and injury recovery, improving mood and as an aid to relaxation and sleep.

The AoR is at the forefront in developing professional practice in reflexology and representing its members in the world of complementary therapy. The AoR provides a ‘voice’ for the profession through its place on the Profession Specific Board of Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), a voluntary regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners. It is also has an active presence at Parliamentary Group meetings on complementary therapies.
