Camelot is out to re-write horse racing's history books at Doncaster on Saturday when he bids to win the St Leger

The Aidan O'Brien trained Camelot is out to re-write horse racing's history books at Doncaster on Saturday when he bids to win the St Leger and in doing so, becoming the first horse since Nijisnky in 1970 to win the "Triple Crown" of UK flat racing, which comprises of the three "Classics" for three year old Colts across the course of a season, the 2000 Guineas, the Epsom Derby and the St Leger.

Camelot has already won the 2000 Guineas and Epsom Derby in 2012 and remains unbeaten after five starts. Victory in the third and final Classic of the season, the St Leger at 3:40 on Saturday afternoon, would cement his place as arguably one of the greatest racehorses of all time and judging by the odds, it would appear that bookmakers are firmly of the opinion that is likely to happen.

The best price available on Camelot making it six wins on the bounce is 2/5, with many firms as short as 4/11, odds which would require a fairly big outlay to make any bet worthwhile. However, Paddy Power in their wisdom, has teamed up with betting-directory.com to offer exclusive odds of even money about Camelot winning the St Leger!

New customers who join Paddy Power via the Betting Directory website and whose first bet is placed on Camelot winning the St Leger will be eligible for the enhanced odds.

Whether you think this is just another PR stunt from Paddy Power to bag a few new accounts or you think they are plain stupid for offering more than double what the other bookies are offering, it's certainly an offer that's hard to ignore if you're of the opinion that Camelot can indeed become a racing legend.

What's more, new Paddy Power customers who join via Betting Directory are also eligible for a free bet of up to £50 on registration and deposit and then a further four separate £50 bets once they've started betting with the Irish bookmaker. The maximum stake for customers wanting to back Camelot is £50/€50 and the adjustment to show returns equalling even money will be made after the race is complete, thus, the bet must be placed at the current odds on the St Leger market.
