Tesco customers can now collect three times the amount of Clubcard points normally awarded when they spend £50 on branded gift cards in store.

Customers can collect 150 Clubcard points for every £50 they spend on one or more branded gift cards. Over 40 gift cards are available for customers to choose from, including high street fashion brands, home retailers, restaurants, entertainment, travel and spa experiences. Gift cards available from Tesco include: iTunes, Top Shop, Pizza Express, Cineworld, Starbucks and B&Q.

This offer allows a regular Pizza Express customer, Cineworld film buff, or DIY fanatic to buy a gift card to use as cash and collect extra Clubcard points in the process. Clubcard points can be used to save money at Tesco, and exchanged for up to four times their value on a range of rewards including popular days-out and restaurants.

Euan Ballantyne, Head of Transaction Services at Tesco Bank said: “We’ve seen a surge in the popularity of gift cards as customers increasingly use them to make everyday purchases as well giving them as presents to friends and family.

“We know customers are looking for extra value and reward on all of their spending. By introducing this offer we are responding to their needs, by allowing them to collect a significant number of additional Clubcard points by simply purchasing a branded gift card to use as cash.”
