Leading walking boots retailer Hi-Tec is calling for its kind-hearted customers to take part in walking challenges this autumn to raise funds for its deserving partner charities, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Help for Heroes.

The outdoors specialist has proudly supported Marie Curie nurses for three years, donating footwear and promoting events such as Walk Ten; a series of 10k fundraiser walks that take place all over the UK.

Hi-Tec has also been working in partnership with Help for Heroes (H4H) since 2011 focusing support on the charity’s Battle Back initiative, which uses sports rehabilitation to help seriously injured service personnel gain confidence and return to an active life. Hi-Tec offers financial assistance towards footwear and gives awards to those taking part in H4H Challenges too.

Charitable support has always been important to the team at Hi-Tec and the retailer continues to encourage its customers to head to the great outdoors and raise money, whether it’s being sponsored to conquer some of the UK’s highest mountains, to take on the challenge of Yorkshire’s Three Peaks in one day, or to hike through picturesque countryside.

Helen Durant, UK Marketing Manager at Hi-Tec, says: “We’re so proud to support the hard work of Marie Curie Cancer Care and Help for Heroes.

“They’re two fantastic charities and we’d love all our customers to really get involved and support the fantastic things they do.

“There’s no better way to fundraise than by taking part in walking challenges; they offer the chance to see breathtakingly beautiful scenery and everyone, no matter what age or fitness level, can have a go.”
