Crowdsourcing UK first for Bristol Mayor

With a unique and groundbreaking technique a politically independent group in Bristol are leading the way for local accessible democratic engage in the wake of the Cities ‘Yes’ vote for Mayor this summer.

The Bristol Manifesto Group are starting the engage process with the ‘three wishes for Bristol’ campaign that will run until March next year when the new mayor will be able to allocate their budget.

Combining both an online and in-person, on-the-ground, engagement process this campaign aims to canvass the majority of the voting population of Bristol asking them simply for their ‘three wishes’ for the city.

The project combines current technology through the website and direct local engagement to reach those who are less tech-savvy directly. Through these two methods it is hoped that all voters will get a chance to have their say simply and easily.

The answers will be sorted and distilled down into topics of concern that will be presented to Bristol Mayoral candidates for comment before hustings.

After that the Manifesto site will offer an in depth survey of the matters raised by the three wishes for Bristol campaign and provide a legacy of continually updated information to the elected Mayor.
