companies suitable for GrowthAccelerator have access to a range of potential services, including help with access to finance

The South East Health Technologies Alliance (SEHTA) and GrowthAccelerator are launching a new partnership to support ambitious high growth businesses in the healthcare technologies sector to achieve their goals.

Healthcare businesses in the south of England are already benefiting from GrowthAccelerator – a new £200 million business support service backed by the government to accelerate the growth of ambitious companies.

GrowthAccelerator will drive growth for up to 26,000 ambitious small to mid-sized businesses across England, creating 55,000 high-value jobs. This will be achieved through a personal, tailored programme that will provide high growth businesses with access to an unrivalled network of experienced, highly qualified business growth experts.

Dr David Parry, CEO of SEHTA, said: “The collaboration with GrowthAccelerator means that fast-growing SEHTA members can benefit from the new service; this type of affordable, relevant support is invaluable for high-flying businesses who know their business ambitions but could benefit from external, expert advice to help them reach their goals.

“In turn, SEHTA will support businesses taking part in GrowthAccelerator with connections in our extensive network, access to our specialist advisers and coaches, plus technical knowledge and assistance.”

Depending on their own requirements, companies suitable for GrowthAccelerator have access to a range of potential services, including help with access to finance (their funding requirements, investment readiness and fundraising), business development (including business strategy, high growth development and sales and marketing), leadership skills (to support the growth plan) and innovation (generating new ideas, creating new products / services, and help with Intellectual Property).

Businesses on GrowthAccelerator may be able to secure specific grants as part of their growth plan. Funding of up to £3000 from the Intellectual Property Office is available to eligible companies, to commission an IP professional to conduct an IP audit of their business. A grant of up to £2000 of match-up funding for leadership and management development is also available. This funding is only available in England to companies on GrowthAccelerator.

Keith Casson, Growth Manager specialising in Innovation for GrowthAccelerator, said: “GrowthAccelerator provides companies with access to expert coaches with specific healthcare industry backgrounds. GrowthAccelerator can remove the blockages preventing your company from reaching its full potential. Partnering with a unique, specialist organisation like SEHTA helps us to deliver this support more precisely.

“We are already working with several companies in the healthcare sector which will benefit from this partnership, and likewise SEHTA members have the opportunity to benefit from dedicated coaching through GrowthAccelerator.”
