Advanced’s first customer awards recognise how technology has improved customer performance

October 9 2012 – The Commercial Division of Advanced Business Solutions (Advanced), a market leading business applications and services provider, has announced the winners of its first Halo Awards 2012. The six winners were announced at a ceremony at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel in September.

The annual Halo Awards are open to customers who use Advanced’s finance system and human capital management solutions. Entrants were judged on a range of criteria, including how Advanced’s IT solutions have helped their business to save costs and improve efficiencies.

Connect Housing scooped the ‘Greatest Saving Through Software’ award, after saving more than £33,000 in training and absence management costs with the help of Advanced’s OpenHR solution. Cats Protection picked up the ‘Most Innovative use of Software’ prize for using technology to increase the accessibility and usability of the charity’s intranet, CatNav.

MAMG (Mills Asset Management Group) collected the ‘Finance Team of the Year’ award, after setting up 170 companies with OpenAccounts and migrating 47 companies into the finance system as part of a recent merger. ‘HR Team of the Year’ went to Croda International for using software to maxmise talent efficiently and Westminster Kingsway College was awarded with ‘Payroll Team of the Year’.

Finally, Virgin Trains won the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Charity’ category and scooped a £1,000 award, which they donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Charity. Judges selected Virgin for raising ‘thousands upon thousands of pounds’ for a wide range of charities, as well as encouraging every member of staff to contribute to charities in a long-term and sustainable way.

Simon Fowler, Managing Director of Advanced Business Solutions (Commercial Division) says, “We’ve built valuable relationships with our customers over the years and wanted to launch the Halo Awards to honour and recognise their achievements.”

“The judges were impressed with all of the entries, which showed how using technology is helping businesses to increase innovation, while maximising efficiencies and cutting costs. Following on from the success of our first awards, we look forward to hosting them again next year and will encourage our customers to go for gold again.”

The Halo Awards 2012 were put in place to recognise gold standard team achievements in the workplace and beyond. The Awards ceremony was sponsored by Progress Software.
