European IT services company Sopra Group has announced that global multi-channel home-shopping leader Redcats Group is about to go live with a flexible and customisable account management and collections suite it is implementing across its UK business.

Redcats is one of the largest home shopping businesses in the world. It specialises in online and catalogue distribution of fashion, home, and sports and leisure goods via subsidiaries across Europe (including the UK) and beyond. Its UK businesses include La Redoute, Vertbaudet, Daxon, OneStopPlus and Ellos.

Following the decision to retire an old mainframe system in the UK, Redcats took advantage of the opportunity to implement a more flexible software system for managing customer payments. In the UK, the group offers payment options to its customers, including revolving credit, cheque and credit / debit card. Keen to keep innovating, Redcats felt it would give the business an additional edge competitively if it could adapt its payment options more dynamically. With a customisable and rules-driven system from Sopra, it will now be able to launch new brands and implement new credit strategies and credit offers more quickly.

Prioritising flexibility, speed of deployment and affordability, Redcats surveyed the market for an appropriate third-party solution. This needed to span the entire credit account management process: processing new credit account applications; managing payments, statement processing, credit limit management, behavioural scoring, collections and recoveries. Its chosen solution, ICS Credit Suite from Sopra Group, is on schedule to go live next month.

Commenting on the decision, Michael Truluck, CEO of Redcats UK, said, “To help us provide the best possible service to our customers we have chosen Sopra Groups Instalment Credit Suite. ICS should also provide the necessary configurability to meet our future business needs.” A key benefit Michael noted is that ICS is capable of being moulded to meet individual requirements. Many aspects of the software can be changed quite easily – from the screens viewed by Redcats’ customer service operators view to the credit terms offered to customers.

The aim is to be live by mid-November 2012 once user testing is successfully completed. Redcats expects its financial services, payment collection and risk team to improve service and strategies more efficiently through the use of the new graphically-driven screens and streamlined processes.

Once a successful UK roll out has been achieved, Redcats Group hope to extend the benefits of ICS to other European countries in which Redcats operates.
