Duras, October 24th: A new digital platform offers the perfect Christmas gift for anyone who enjoys wine – an opportunity to become a part of an independent vineyard producing award winning organic wine.

Founded by a British couple, MyOrganicVineyard (MyOrganicVineyard) is an innovative platform which enables people to adopt their own vines, discover and learn about the wine making process from experts, follow the progress of their vines throughout the growing season and ultimately receive and enjoy the bottles of wine their vines produce.

Emma Jell, who works with digital agency to provide innovative digital solutions to businesses and organisations, says: "Wine is a perfect gift for family and friends, but how much do we all know about the wine we drink? Variations in the soil, or changes in the weather, can have a huge effect on how the wine tastes. The MyOrganicVineyard platform offers a way for people to engage with the wonderful story of wine and appreciate it so much more."

Drawing on 20 years’ experience in digital and social media, Emma and Simon have created a truly interactive experience. Members can view updates, photos and videos from the vineyard through a mobile app, emails and by logging into a members only part of the MyOrganicVineyard website. They can find out what the weather is like, take part in decisions about how the wine is produced and visit the vineyard itself.

Emma explains more: "The growth of the internet and digital technology means people expect a fuller and more interactive experience from products and services in all walks of life. Similarly, we're seeing greater interest in learning about the provenance of food and drink with trends such as the rise of the slow food movement and the growth of farmers markets. Our experience in social media and digital technology means we have been able to create this platform which can connect people leading busy lives with their vines, and ultimately the wine they drink.”

MyOrganicVineyard connects people with an independent vineyard in the heart of the rich wine growing region of the Côtes de Duras appellation, near Bordeaux in the South West of France. The vineyard is 100% certified organic and all grapes are picked and selected by hand to create fine wines reflecting the terroir (or character due to climate and soil). The company is looking to partner with other independent organic vineyards in the region and beyond.

MyOrganicVineyard is now offering its first memberships, starting at £49.95, which will begin on January 1st 2013 and will last for the entire life cycle of the wine - typically 18 months, making this a perfect Christmas gift for anyone who loves wine and enjoys the finer things in life.
