The awards, celebrity endorsements and fantastic mummy blogger reviews have all understood our message which is to let girls be girls

London Toy Company Arklu has been awarded three Platinum Best Toy Awards for their recently launched Lottie™ doll brand at the highly prestigious US Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Awards 2012.

This is the eighth award for the Lottie™ doll brand since its launch in late August 2012 and adds to an impressive line-up of awards in the UK and US for Arklu.

The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio was founded in 1989 as the only independent consumer review of children’s media by child development experts Joanne Oppenheim and her daughter Stephanie Oppenheim, contributors to NBC's TODAY Show. Their Oppenheim Toy Portfolio awards have become a benchmark of excellence with consumers, toy makers and the media

Lottie™ is a new, innovative fashion doll for girls aged 3- 9. The key point of difference from other fashion dolls is that Lottie’s body is ‘childlike’; addressing key parental concerns about premature sexualisation, body image and girls losing out on their childhood. Her dimensions (with the exception of her head) are based upon those devised by leading British scientific academics to reflect the average proportions on a nine year old girl.

Unlike other fashion dolls, there is no pushing the envelope with adult agendas such as scanty clothes, high heels, jewellery, tattoos or makeup; these are girl dolls intended for girls. Most of all, Lottie™ is super cute and rather lovely. She is flexible, poseable and can stand on her own two feet….a life-skill that is important for girls both big and small. Lottie’s motto is ‘Be bold, be brave, be you’.

Designed for maximum creative play value, Lottie™ has high-quality; strokable hair that doesn’t tangle easily and her premium quality clothes and accessories are detailed and lifelike, with lots of tactile elements.

Ian Harkin, Managing Director, says “We have been overwhelmed by the positive response so far. The awards, celebrity endorsements and fantastic mummy blogger reviews have all understood our message which is to let girls be girls ”.

The complete range of Lottie™ dolls and accessories are available online at, Amazon UK and Amazon USA. Dolls retail at GBP16.99 (USD19.99 in USA); accessory packs at GBP7.99 (USD9.99 in USA).
