Many businesses are already seeing the benefits from using the joint service and are achieving significant improvements in operational efficiencies

Planet Positive collaborates with CloudApps to help organisations answer 2013 carbon reporting legislation

LONDON, 30th October 2012 - Planet Positive, one of the UK’s leading organisations in carbon measurement and reporting, has partnered with leading sustainability software vendor, CloudApps, to help organisations answer the Government’s 2013 Mandatory Carbon Reporting legislation. Planet Positive and CloudApps have designed a fast, effective and affordable service for companies listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange who are required to report on carbon emissions in legislation going live from 2013.

The online, cloud-based Mandatory Carbon Reporting service enables any company that is impacted by the requirements to utilise the service by either measuring or validating their carbon emissions data. The service, currently being used by organisations such as Land Securities, Deloitte, Amec and Lush Cosmetics, retains the rigour required of carbon reporting whilst removing complexity, making it fast, easy and affordable to implement.

The new legislation was set out by Nick Clegg earlier in this year and requires companies include greenhouse gas emissions data for their entire organisation in their annual reports for reporting years ending after 6th April 2013.

Steve Malkin, CEO and Founder of Planet Positive, said: “We have created a tailored offering for companies to meet Mandatory Carbon Reporting requirements that is cost effective and a proven route to efficient, reliable reporting. Using CloudApps means it is fast to get started, the application is intuitive and easy to adopt.”

Planet Positive and CloudApps believe the demand for systems that allow emissions data to be regularly monitored and reported on will continue to grow beyond the new legislation. Many businesses are already seeing the benefits from using the joint service and are achieving significant improvements in operational efficiencies and employee engagement.

As Peter Grant, CEO CloudApps explains: “The combination of Planet Positive’s certification brand and awareness with CloudApps ability to easily capture data and monitor key metrics will help organisations comply with this ground-breaking legislation in a swift and cost effective manner. By measuring and monitoring the relevant metrics, businesses will not only be able to answer this legislation, but, as importantly, they will also be well positioned to generate cost savings through increased efficiencies.”
