The sumptuous hotel and spa, The Metropole, set in the stunning landscape of Mid Wales, is staging a jazz extravaganza from Friday, November 2 - Sunday, November 4, providing the perfect short break for a Jazz lover in Wales.
The weekend will be hosted by Denise Lawrence, whose rich contralto voice, dry wit and huge musical repertoire has earned her a devoted international following. Along with the Denise Lawrence All-Stars - featuring guest clarinet and sax star, Mike Haylor - weekend highlights include John Everett’s Red Dragon Jazzmen and The Old Fashioned Love Band. World-class trombonist, Kevin Grenfell, leads the grand finale on Sunday.
Jazz fans will also enjoy complimentary membership of Welsh hotel’s spa, including use of the 18m heated swimming pool, sauna, steamroom, jacuzzi and gym.
Head chef, Nic Edwards, who is dedicated to using the finest local ingredients, will be pulling out all the stops to create fantastic dishes throughout the weekend.
The Metropole, situated in the elegant town of Llandrindod Wells, truly is a family affair. Current owners, Justin Baird-Murray and his sister, Sarah, are the fifth generation of their family to be running this venerable Mid Wales establishment.
The Metropole was purchased by the siblings’ great, great, grandmother, Elizabeth Miles, in 1896 - 115 years ago.
